There are now a variety of new ways to beautify features such as the lips, cheeks, chin and the groove between the cheek and the lip. By injecting collagen, one's own fat or other long-lasting substances, one can obtain a fuller contour (plumpness) in any of these areas. Augmentation with injectables can make a face look significantly younger, softer and sexier.
Collagen, a naturally-occurring protein found abundantly in the deep skin layer, has been the most common treatment of its kind. It has a proven safety and performance record but has the disadvantage of having a relatively short duration of effectiveness.
- Full, healthy lips have long been recognized as a particularly attractive feature. Whether you have always had thin lips or you want to return your lips to the shape and fullness they had when you were younger, a lip augmentation procedure can give you the look you desire.
- During this procedure, one or both lips can be augmented with tissue from one’s own body or other popular, injectable substances like Collagen, Restylane, or others. Depending on which substance you choose, the plumper look can last from two months to multiple years. Hyaluronic acid products (Restylane, Juvederm, etc.) have by far been our most popular choices for lip enhancement.
During your individual consultation, we will help you learn about these choices so you can make the right choice for you.
- In this surgical procedure, some of your own fat is harvested, washed and purified, and carefully grafted to fill in hollow areas or to restore a more youthful contour. The special handling results in greater reliability of fat cell survival. A successful fat graft is one of the longest-lasting options for soft tissue augmentation. Areas most commonly treated include facial features (the lips, the groove between the cheek and the lip, the cheeks, hollow areas around the eyes, etc.) and the back of the hands.
We are happy to explain the different options to you during a consultation.
