Providing multiple options for those looking to get rid of excess fat, Boston Plastic Surgery offers the ultra precise VASER liposelection. With this technique, Dr. Samaha is able to target stubborn fat selectively, which preserves the surrounding tissues and can give you a quicker recovery time and less bruising.
Am I a candidate for VASER?
If you’re looking to remove localized areas of fat, have a good skin tone, and are at a stable body weight, VASER liposelection may be a good option for you. VASER works best for those looking to sculpt more delicate areas of the body.
How Does It Work?
VASER liposelection uses sound waves to break up pockets of fat for targeted removal. For the right candidates, it can be less invasive than traditional liposuction and can be used to slim down the following:
- Flanks/Love handles
- Neck/ Chin
- Male or female breast tissue
Taking anywhere from 45 minutes to two hours, liposuction can be performed under local anesthesia with sedation, under general anesthesia, or using the tumescent liposuction technique. Once pockets of fat are broken up by sound waves, fatty tissue is removed with a cannula—a small, hollow tube—until desired results are achieved. Dr. Samaha will then suture the incisions shut and apply dressing and surgical tape.
After your procedure, you will experience some soreness and bruising, accompanied with slight swelling and discomfort around the incisions. You will be required to wear compression garments to help promote healing and contouring of the body.
