Radiesse

Radiesse-Logo

Radiesse is a long-term, non-surgical lip and soft tissue augmentation method that lasts for approximately one year and up to three years, making it an impressive approach for soft tissue augmentation.

What is Radiesse made of?

Radiesse is made from calcium hydroxylapatite, a naturally-occurring substance, and is formulated into microspheres suspended in an aqueous polysaccharide gel which has been FDA approved for soft tissue augmentation and other medical uses. This 10 minute treatment is reasonably comfortable, and offers very little downtime (some moderate swelling) with immediate results.

How are Radiesse treatments performed?

When you visit Dr. Samaha's office for your Radiesse treatment, he will first discuss your aesthetic goals with you. After examining your lines and wrinkles, he can suggest a treatment plan.

To begin your Radiesse treatment, Dr. Samaha may apply an ice pack to your face at the treatment site. This will gently numb the skin and help improve your comfort. Dr. Samaha will then use special techniques, which may include cross hatching or threading to deliver the Radiesse solution beneath the surface of a wrinkle with a small needle.

The Radiesse solution will provide an immediate correction, though Dr. Samaha may gently massage the site to ensure even placement of the product.

How will I feel after Radiesse treatment?

Following your Radiesse treatment, your skin at the treatment site may feel a bit tight and may display minor redness, but these are temporary side effects. You should be able to resume your normal routine after treatment, but you should avoid alcohol, exercise and sun exposure for 24 hours.

Within a couple of days, you should experience the full, wrinkle-smoothing effects of your treatment with Radiesse in Boston.

Please email Dr. Samaha at Boston Plastic Surgery to learn more about this treatment including specials on Radiesse in Boston. We are happy to explain the different options to you during a consultation.
