Plastic Surgeons Discuss Revision Rhinoplasty

Posted on April 26, 2010 | by

Although the majority of rhinoplasty procedures are successful, some patients require a second operation to correct complications or unsatisfying results. The intricate nature of this procedure – known as revision rhinoplasty – was discussed this weekend during the Annual Meeting of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

A panel of several plastic surgeons held two discussions on the topic, covering aspects such as:

  • Alternative treatment methods
  • Treating nasal, nostril and alar base deformities
  • Correcting a short or crooked nose
  • Correction of suboptimal rhinoplasty results
  • Using grafts or sutures to shape the nasal tip
