Boston Breast Augmentation ChoicesPosted on July 18, 2007 | by Boston Plastic Surgery
Plastic Surgery has become a popular method to safely change imperfections in our physical appearance. Last year alone, nearly 11 million people underwent plastic surgery in the United States. The most popular procedure was breast augmentation.
Now that silicone implants are back on the market, women desiring larger, fuller breasts have two decisions to make. The first – is whether to undergo breast augmentation surgery. The second – is whether to have silicone or saline implants.
Many women are choosing silicone over saline because they want a softer implant and desire a more natural look as opposed to the rounder appearance of a saline implant. Some women do prefer the saline over the silicone and vice versa. For women with little or no breast tissue, silicone is almost always essential, but as always, the decision weighs in large part on personal preference. It is most important, when deciding saline versus silicone, to talk to your doctor extensively and consider the pros and cons of each type of implant.
